Lolly Herman founded Under the Umbrella Tree Educational Services, Inc. in 2002. Lolly has an immense passion for working with children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. She has a talent for breaking through to the most hard to reach child. Lolly never gives up and she truly believes that every child has the potential and ability to reach their personal best. Lolly incorporates Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Verbal Behavior (VB), Direct Instruction (DI) and Precision Teaching (PT) into her programming. She obtained her Bachelors of Education at York University and is currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program. She is a Board Certified Associate Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA).
Clinical Psychologist PhD Psych
Dr. Gerard Klein is Under the Umbrella Tree’s (UTUT’s) supervising Clinical Psychologist. Dr. Klein has over 30 years of extensive experience working with children with behavioural, social and developmental disabilities, including many children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Asperger’s Syndrome. Dr. Klein’s close involvement with our team is integral to the success of our programming. Dr. Klein is at UTUT twice weekly overseeing programming and meeting with parents to better understand their children and advise on various techniques and approaches that work best. He observes children to determine their learning style. Interprets various assessment results to determine the next steps to be taken within a child’s IBI program.
Co-clinical Director BPHE, M.A., OCT, BCBA
Cori Stern is Under the Umbrella Tree’s (UTUT’s) Co-clinical Director. Cori, customizes, develops and implements ABA programs for each student at UTUT and supervises and trains therapists. She joined UTUT’s team in 2006 and has over 10 years of experience working with children. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Physical Health and Education (she knows how to get kids hopping) from the University of Toronto, and her Masters degree in Child Study and Education from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, at the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, Behaviour Analyst Certification Board, Ontario Associate for Behaviour Analysis, and Association for Behaviour Analysis International. Cori is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) who also provides BCBA supervision hours for BCaBA or BCBA candidates. Nathalie has been with UTUT since 2007. Nathalie first came to UTUT as a client in 2002 with her eldest daughter. Lolly Herman felt that Nathalie’s wealth of knowledge in the field combined with her passion and drive to help children would be an asset to the company. Nathalie has guided and advocated on behalf of countless families who turn to UTUT as primary resource for their children. Her success in obtaining government funding for programs, her high level connections with Occupational Therapists (OT) and Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP) in the GTA combined with her intimate understanding of the emotional journey the parents must travel make her an unique asset acknowledged by clients and staff alike.
